What's on your Workdesk Wednesday? 212

Here we are again back to Wednesday and a chance to travel around the globe looking all he lovely desks and stunning creations. If you would like to join in pop over to Stamping Ground by clicking here and start in the journey.

There has not been much activity on my desk this week as other jobs have taken over. I have been working on a magazine article which will be published later in the year, so all a bit secret squirrel for now.

Lots more jobs are lining up, among them are another wedding album and a bridal bouquet!

Here is my desk this week, I have just finished a new baby card. Mostly what you can see is new purchases, some stamps, a set of dies and some buttons. My bargain of the week are some sets of pretty pins from a florist suppliers,  whole boxes for 75p!

Some of you may have spotted my new melt pot a lovely birthday gift, I am so desperate for the time to play with it. Not this weekend though as I am off to London to a Michael Buble concert and a couple of days shopping with my lovely Daughter.

Have a good week everyone

Vintage Bird Card

Another Vintage card for a workshop this time with a printed bird image as the main focal point.. I have used some printed paper layers which have been distressed with ink. Some die cuts, rolled roses and lace finish the design.

Vintage Lady Card

I loved making this card for a vintage workshop. This design could be created with many different images and a variety of stamps. The background is aged with Distress Inks and the stamping worked in overlapping layers, some of the flowers have been coloured with pencils. There are many vintage images available on the internet, here the lady had been printed greyscale and applied on top, with some further stamping layers.

Angry Birds

One of my favourite cards simply constructed from punched shapes (mostly circles and hearts) to create the Angry Birds. I had great fun creating the characters. There is a brilliant tutorial here.

What's on your Workdesk Wednesday? 211

Wednesday again and a chance to travel around the world visiting the desks of lovely creative people. Pop over to Stamping Ground to find out more.

I know that not showing my desk this week will break the rules, but I hope you will indulge me as this weekend I had my party and all the creativeness of the last few months came together. We opened our Vintage Tea Rooms for the day. Do you want to see??

Will be back to my desk soon, have a great week!

It's a sign!

Here are the two signs I made to direct people to our pop up Tea Room.

The base was MDF painted with some emulsion paint I found lurking in the shed. I decoupaged some flowers from paper napkins and added chipboard letters. Finally I distressed all the edges with ink to make them look worn. I think I will have to do more of this, anyone need a sign making??

Through the window

This card was made using a window die by Memory Box, I love the simplicity of using dies cuts to create a design. I mostly cut out the shapes in white cardstock and colour with markers when I know what I need.

What's on your workdesk Wednesday? 210

This week I am showing a messy desk as I have had so many comments on my tidiness, I thought you might like to see the dark side!

I was covering some round boxes which I am going to use as staging for a display, but I wanted them to have a more Shabby Chic look.

I also made some 'trees', they are going to be covered with sweets as a treat for the children!

I had some lovely suggestions for what to do with my printers tray, I am now well away with the design. I can't wait to finish it and share.

Have a great week!

More lanterns......

I made a few lantern decorations, there was a great template on Craft Artist so I digitally filled it with the backing papers, printed and assembled. I think they worked out very well.

A card I made today ready for Father's Day. I used a Gelli print background and added a map detail rub on. Some chipboard letters and a little stamping completed the design.

Bye bye birdies....

Saying a little goodbye to my birdies this week as they are off to an exhibition at Snape Maltings. So I thought I would give them a little send off here, in case they sell and don't come home again!

and not forgetting the mice too..

Please see my exhibitions page for more details.

What's on your workdesk Wednesday? 209

Oh my.... Wednesday again...help!

Those of you with amazing memories will notice quite a few changes on my desk this week. There has been a whole revamp in order to fit in a nice little shelf unit I found in a charity shop which now holds my larger ink pads ( yes Ria, I know I said, no more charity shop purchases!)

Well you know how it goes, so two days of sorting and re-organising later, here we are.

On the mat you can see some butterflies I have been making, these will be in more detail on tomorrows post. Behind them are the two lovely ATC's I received. I have blogged about them individually here and here.

Oh and a progress update...I managed to get outside because the sun came, to paint my printers tray...so here it is a work in progress....

Now what shall I make to fill the spaces, they are not very deep? any ideas?

Have a great week everyone!

Nice post again!

I think I could get used to this....getting nice things in the post instead of bills and junk mail. I received another ATC in the post, again with stitched detail. I have to confess as an embroiderer I feel somewhat guilty that the one I sent off in swap was an inked and stamped one. (note to self....bad girl!).

Here is the lovely ATC made by Jo, Thank you so much.

So Lucky!

Not my work, but I just had to share this stunning hand crafted side table which was a gift to me, an early Birthday present. The craftsmanship is incredible. I am so lucky to have such amazing friends!

Something pretty in the post...

Here is the lovely ATC I received in the post yesterday through the WOYWW ATC swap......a totally random process yet I received an embroidery one, just perfect!

Thank you Sue

Simply die cuts

Sharing a couple of cards designs made simply with layered die cuts. I tend to cut them out of white card and colour them with pens or inks to suit the design.
