Here I am decorating a whole batch of candles using tissue paper and napkins. Messy but fun!
Still a work in progress, the ones at the back need heating but I think they are looking pretty.
So this is the action on my desk this week, for more desk activity pop over to Stamping Ground where you will be able to see lots more.
Wow Karen I love these candles. How do you cover them? I would love to make some of these for our Christmas fayre at school.

Cut tissue paper, you can stamp this or one thin layer of napkin to size. Wrap the candle, I secure with a couple of dots of glue. Then use a heat tool to gently melt the wax and it will seep through the paper. There are lots of how to's on you tube.
DeleteThose are fab, you clever thing! Very elegant indeed :-)

I agree - very elegant. Still struggling to wrap my head around Xmas stuff in JULY, but I can't deny they are looking fab. :)

Gorgeous, Karen. But can they be lit? What happens when the wick gets down a bit?
ReplyDeleteTake care. God bless.

Yes the wax soaks through the paper making it part of the candle, like a transfer. It will probably burn down inside the shell anyway as these type of candles tend to burn that way.
DeleteFabulous candles Karen, happy WOYWW and have a wonderful week RobynO#29
ReplyDeletegreat shot - and lots of candles. Rather inevitably I find myself drawn to the balck and white ones, and the nutcracker...makes one look at napkins in a whole new light!
ReplyDeleteAmazing! What a great idea..I might have to give this a go. I love the fat square candles at the front. Cx #66
