What's on your workdesk Wednesday? 209

Oh my.... Wednesday again...help!

Those of you with amazing memories will notice quite a few changes on my desk this week. There has been a whole revamp in order to fit in a nice little shelf unit I found in a charity shop which now holds my larger ink pads ( yes Ria, I know I said, no more charity shop purchases!)

Well you know how it goes, so two days of sorting and re-organising later, here we are.

On the mat you can see some butterflies I have been making, these will be in more detail on tomorrows post. Behind them are the two lovely ATC's I received. I have blogged about them individually here and here.

Oh and a progress update...I managed to get outside because the sun came, to paint my printers tray...so here it is a work in progress....

Now what shall I make to fill the spaces, they are not very deep? any ideas?

Have a great week everyone!

  2. What a great charity shop find. We also have a printers tray with no idea what to fill the spaces with. It languishes in a cupboard until we decide!

  3. You had to buy that shelf...far too useful to leave it behind. Try thinking of a theme for the printer tray, like summer, love or music for example. It'll make it easier to hunt down things to put in it (says she who hasn't got a printers tray to play with!!!) Hugs. Pam#9

  4. Hi Karen
I am going to let you off on your charity shop purchase as it looks so at home on your desk and the ink pads look fantastic stored on it.
I am in love with your printers tray where did you get that from? I have always wanted to get my hands on some of them.
I can't wait to see what you do with it
Wishing you a very happy WOYWW and hope you have a great week

    1. I got it at a boot sale, it was fairly cheap but not as good wood as some of the dearer ones, but ok for painting. I often see them at Battlesbridge though.

  5. Your desk looks so lovely and tidy and well organized with your new thrift shop find...I can see that Ria has let you off the hook...thank goodness as it looks great on your desk.
I am also of the mind that chosing a theme would be the easiest way to do your printers tray. If you chose family, you could download quotes,do a variety of family photos in the larger openings and then asseccorize the teensy one.
I saw a lovley one where the girl did her house and garden. She included some shots of the exterior and some interior house photos, gorgeous garden shots and used bloom photos one by one in some of the smaller openings. It was so pretty.

  6. You certainly have made a nice neat desk. I will have a look for your next post to see those butterflies better, they look beautiful from here.
That printers tray is gorgeous, I'm sure you can find all sorts of knick knacks to fill it, if not you could always send it to me (he he).
    Have a great week.

  8. Hi Karen, glad you liked my birdie designs the twinches are for a swap and the cards I made at craft club (previous post on blog.) Adore your printer's tray and how you have painted it and backed the cubby holes with delightful papers. One lady doing the craft barn alpha challenge is doing one, here is her blog so you can go look, http://jansartyjunk.blogspot.co.uk/ Obviously quite a different "look" but it might give you some ideas. 10. I think your charity store bargain is brilliant and so is the printers tray, very pretty papers and colours you have used. I have always filled them with odd bits and pieces.. keys, thimbles, small pics, glass beads... anything goes really!! Annette #8

  11. You go right ahead and purchase whatever you like in the charity shop as you find these things you have to go with the flow and if it works, it works. To be honest it looks like it belongs and has a purpose. It's nice revamping the space every now and again, you find things that you have forgotten about.

    Happy WOYWW

  12. Well, your new purchase makes your desk look like heaven for ink pads - so neat and tidy and so accessible. Great find.Love the printers tray but not a clue what to fill it with. Maybe 'my favourite things' as I think they need to be three dimensional.
Thanks for visiting me - Hugs, Neet xx 17
