What's on your workdesk Wednesday? 241

Here is a view of my desk yesterday. I am working on a cover for a small lampshade using Distress Ink and some of my stash of stamps from Chocolate Baroque. I mostly used Dawn Chorus here with some flowers from Flora Bella. I made this cover so it can slip over the existing shade, which means I can change it whenever I fancy a change.

To trace the template I carefully rolled the shade over some scrap paper whilst drawing the outline

So if you wonder why I am showing you my desk in all it's glory, head over to Stamping Ground where you can see desks from all around the world.

  9. Hi Karen, what a lovely project ... the lamp is going to look gorgeous. Thanks for popping over earlier. The hexagons are not difficult to crochet at all ... once you have completed one it is simple to repeat for the next one. I did have to add a row to my pattern to get the correct size but otherwise I'm quite hooked (pun fully intended!). Hope you have a wonderful week. Elizabeth x #67

    1. 12x12 scrapbook paper so it would fit but any paper would do. I think, as it slots over the existing shade there is no risk of it getting too hot either.

  11. What a fabulous workspace Karen! LoVe the way you store your Distress Inks ... I have yet to find a way that works for me as I currently store mine stacked five or six high in a drawer - and, of course, the one I want is ALWAYS the last one in the last stack!!! Also LoVe your lampshade and what a great idea to simply slip it over your existing one ... just brilliant!

Thanks for popping by my blog earlier ... I update my card list (but it always seems to grow rather than lessen!!!) each Christmas so I can be ready to go once the holidays are over - I have always aimed to get all the cards for the year done in January/February leaving the rest of the year to play or make anything else that crops up ... like new baby cards or engagements etc., Last year I tried a different approach and made the cards throughout the year as required and it was a DISASTER!!!!! Back to my original plan because it works for me. Happy crafting, love from Debbie (tatteredrocks) xXx
